The Garden Square sculpture is to be both viewed and walked around, experienced over time and shifting daylight. The two panels of slightly different sizes create a thin, glowing green edge, raising active perceptual awareness and sensibility through bodily engagement. Their transparency and reflectivity continuously shift with changing light inside and outside the garden, revealing phenomena that shift subtly as light and perception move through the garden. Electrical UV lights, switchable by the viewer, subtly modulate the panels’ light and perception, especially at night. The installation responds to the history and scale of the community garden, as well as to the movement of people within it: each position offers a distinct perception of the work. Facing the street, the fluorescent green panel gently draws attention, inviting a quiet curiosity about the space. Simple form, but infinite richness—subtle, body-engaging, and temporal. Visitors are invited to dwell, to observe, and to return under varied conditions. Ultimately, the piece belongs to each viewer, shaped by their own perception and duration of engagement.
